Our Seasonal Flower Photo Shoot
The Brief
Late September we decided to do a styled photo shoot to show our creativity, expertise and style. The shoot was to give our brides ideas for what flowers could be suitable for a romantic natural wedding. To reflect the theme, Gemma our model – a would-be bridesmaid – to appear against a gorgeous background of Lound woodlands. Gemma is wearing a full flower circlet as her head piece and holding a large cascading bouquet full of stunning blooms and draping foliage’s.

The Flowers and colours we used
We used a variety of luscious blooms such as Hydrangea, Roses, Hypericum, Ammi and a wide range of foliage’s like eucalyptus and soft ruscus to create Gemma’s Breathe taking flower circlet and bouquet. The colours picked by a florist are fundamental to any design as colour reflects how a person is feeling, the seasons we live in and even an anniversary. Colour can be a very exciting element to floristry as it is always good to experiment and find different harmony’s to enjoy. We really loved working with the pink and purple colour palette as we felt it gave the shoot a Soft and romantic feel. We used the dark purple hydrangea in the circlet and bouquet to give it a luxurious royal feel then we introduced the pink to complement and lift the purple as we feel the tone of pink brought a soft, pretty and feminine aspect to the design.

The location
We knew we wanted to do the shoot in a woodland location to give our pictures a nature background with plenty of textures, so we chose to use Lound woods which is local to our area. As well as their impressive trees, the woods also has wonderful displays of wildflowers (such as bluebells), large numbers of butterflies and other insects, and a beautiful lake running through. So we knew it would be the perfect place for our shoot to take place. It keeps our mind relaxed and stress free. Nature photography has a therapeutic impact on our body and mind in a positive way. Taking photographs within nature is probably the best way to make your image stand out while blending in so naturally.
